Coordinator of Conference Sponsors

Diana Suddreth is currently the Sponsor Coordinator for ASSM where she enjoys working with those who support ASSM members in a variety of ways. Diana retired from her position as Director of Teaching & Learning at the Utah State Board of Education in 2019 after 40 years in education. She began her career in Las Vegas and continued to teach secondary mathematics in California and Utah, as well as for the Bureau of Indian affairs before becoming the Utah State Secondary Mathematics specialist in 2006. There she led initiatives to adopt strengthened core standards that moved Utah towards an integrated model of secondary mathematics. Diana received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching in 2000, became Nationally Board Certified in 2002, and was honored with the Don Clark Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015. Diana served as ASSM President (2014-2016) and as Vice President for Program (2010-2013). She continues to be involved in mathematics education in consulting capacities and serves on the PBS Utah Advisory Board. Her day-to-day activities include travelling, camping and geocaching with her husband, Michael, and doing virtually anything with her five grandchildren.
