Maggie Doyle is the Secondary Mathematics Consultant at the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE). She is passionate about the power of connection in education: not only connections among mathematical content and practices, but also the need for connection among educators, students, families, and the broader school community. Doyle received a Bachelor's in Mathematics from Georgetown College, a Master’s in Secondary Mathematics Education from Eastern Kentucky University, and her Rank One in Supervisor of Instruction from the University of the Cumberlands. Initially involved in projects related to standards revision and assessment as a classroom teacher, Doyle joined the Kentucky Department of Education in 2019 after teaching high school mathematics for 15 years. In her current role at KDE, Doyle collaborates with Erin Chavez (her mathematics soul sister) to support initiatives related to the Kentucky Academic Standards for Mathematics, high-quality mathematics instruction, and mathematics coaching. She is dedicated to providing high-quality professional learning opportunities to mathematics educators and actively seeks ways to broaden the scope and impact of her work. In her spare time, Doyle enjoys spending quality moments with her dogs and her husband. She finds joy in baking—brownies and cinnamon rolls are specialties—and unwinding by the pool. A sports enthusiast, Doyle finds inspiration in the strategic aspects of sports and enjoys the camaraderie of being a fan. She is also passionate about podcasts and values the insights and diverse perspectives they offer, often incorporating these learnings into her professional endeavors.
