Denise Schulz is currently serving as an Elementary Mathematics Consultant for the NC Department of Public Instruction. This is her 21th year in public education in NC. Prior to joining the Mathematics Team at NCDPI in 2013, she was an elementary classroom teacher, an AIG Specialist, and an Instructional Facilitator. The primary focus of her position at NCDPI is on the supporting teachers and district leaders as they implement the mathematics standards. Recently, Denise also works with the Charles A. Dana Center at the University of Texas at Austin facilitating professional development for teachers. In her "spare" time, Denise attends North Carolina State University as a doctoral student working toward a PhD in Education Evaluation and Policy Analysis. She also serves as a national officer for Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity which allows her to advise college women.
