Mary Mooney is a Mathematics Consultant at the Department of Public Instruction in Wisconsin. As an educator she has experienced teaching and learning in a larger urban district as a high school teacher, coach, and teacher leader in K-12 mathematics. In her current role as a consultant she is most interested in how to work within and create new systems that allow for adults and students to have meaningful and important mathematics experiences. In working with systems where students are often not visible, Mary has found it important to always have access to the student experiences through tutoring and partnering with students. In her membership and leadership at ASSM I appreciate greatly the personal and professional conversations that challenge and keep her informed in all things mathematics education.
