Charles has been a continuous member of ASSM since joining the Arkansas Department of Education in the mid 1970’s. Following retirement in 2005, he joined the University of Central Arkansas as an associate professor of mathematics retiring again in 2019. Charles is a past president of ASSM, served as financial officer, and continues working nationally with the Presidential Awards Program as Senior Advisor.
